 BEE & SMME development overview

Local and Provincial as well as National, governments and their agencies all have programmes aimed at SMME development, most including BEE elements. Details of such programmes must be kept here. Other initiatives for business retention in the area must be kept on the business retention tab.

The process of Co-operatives moving toward SMMEs is outlined in a document available here.
This document will be of assistance to SMMEs focused on Tourism as it talks of two programmes launched on the 14th of May 2007 by the Tourism Enterprise Programme (TEP), a partnership between the Business Trust and Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism - the projects are The 2010 Host City programme, in preparation for SMMEs participation in 2010, and TEP Toolkits.
